Child and Adolescent Services
Dr. Troiani and Dr. Shephard have extensive experience working with children and adolescents aged eight and up.
They specialize in assessment and educational planning for children and adolescents. They use testing to aid in the development of individually tailored treatment recommendations and interventions designed to facilitate academic success.
Dr. Troiani served as a school psychologist through the Chester County intermediate Unit and Tredyffrin-Easttown School district, where he worked with students from early intervention through college-age, addressing difficulties related to learning, behavior, and emotional functioning. He provided consultation to special education teachers and autism support staff. In addition, he facilitated transition planning through identification of community resources (including college accommodations).
Dr. Shephard has an extensive background in neuropsychology and school psychology, with a focus on supporting students from elementary through college age who have learning differences, ADHD, autism, and other psychological or behavioral needs. Her work is characterized by a deep understanding of child and adolescent development and the unique challenges faced at various stages. Dr. Shephard is passionate about helping students discover their strengths and feel valued, understood, and empowered to navigate their learning and social environments confidently.
In her comprehensive evaluations, Dr. Shephard explores the complex interplay of cognitive, developmental, and psychological factors affecting each student, tailoring her approach to meet individual needs. She collaborates with families, educators, and other care providers to develop a holistic understanding of each child’s strengths and challenges. Through this individualized approach, she aims to make a meaningful impact on her clients’ lives by providing actionable steps and effective educational and therapeutic strategies.
Getting to Know Your Child and Understanding Your Concerns
Our doctors recognize the importance of understanding a child’s family environment, educational experience and social interactions when beginning the evaluation process. Taking the time to meet with parents to discuss their concerns, reviewing educational materials (IEP’s, teacher/counselor notes, and testing scores), and creating a rapport with each child helps to provide a firm foundation on which to begin his testing efforts. Parents are involved from the start.
